O mate this fish there is crazy good, buttery ,fresh and portions are big fish is melting in your mouth, also try out theirs curry sauce as is good as well, chips nice and crispy outside but somehow inside soft and this is perfection at least to me 😊, from shop you can go on sea front and then magic is happening. We will be back there for Shure

Disappointing fish and chips. The fish batter was soggy even tho it was freshly cooked and the portion size was very small and thin. Wont be trying there again.

We got a takeaway here on a Saturday evening and weren't impressed I'm afraid. The battered sausage wasn't a nice sausage at all, and the curry sauce was very overpowering and unpleasant. Chips were fine. We didn't have any fish so this may have been better, but based on our experience of ordering what we normally love from a chippie, we wouldn't go back.

Really very good fish and chips. Lovely little shop. Only marked down as the curry sauce is, well, too posh and isn’t like normal curry sauce you have everywhere else, and because the lady serving didn’t ask whether I wanted salt and vinegar and I completely forgot

I was here last weekend, had cod and chips, and sausage and chips. Firstly nearly fell over when they said £21.50 seriously overpriced. Then after waiting around 25 minutes we got an even bigger shock, the size of the cod was small compared to any other large cod and chips I have ever ordered, and seriously over cooked so the fish was dry and not flaky like you would expect. I took it straight back and told the manager you should be ashamed at letting that go out, his response would you like another one, why would I want to have the same shit served up twice. I never got offered a refund and walked out in discuss. I would seriously consider your choices when visiting Southwold... An absolute joke of a fish and chip shop compared to most sorely reliant on the fact their are few to choose from....

As a northerner thought it was expensive for what we had. Asked for a chip muffin, and chips and gravy and got 2x Chips a separate gravy and a separate muffin without asking if I wanted them to eat now or whatever which I thought was strange and £11.

Over rated, over priced...had much much better. Quite a small portion, payed for a large to share. Standing in an alley near the bins, in the freezing weather.

We used to love coming here at least one when we are in the area and although the fish tastes great the size you get is very small now, I had a very small fish, about two small fish fingers stuck together with my fish and chips, my partner only orderd fish and hers was twice the size of mine, it's been like this for the last three visits is it good value for money no it's not at roughly £12 each, will give it one last go in a few months, if it's still like that I will not bother again and find another chippy.

Now ladies and gents, let me tell you a story about when I came here to eat chips. I parked on the high street, after a gruelling day of working on the telecoms infrastructure both myself and my highest skilled apprentice decided to look for a box of the golden boys. And boy o boy did we find them!! My apprentice decided to pay, looking at me and winking, he knew he had throughougly pleased me. The most delicious chips I can remember eating in my life we given to us. Froth dribbled from my chops as I devoured chip after chip. Deffo going back x

The fish and chips here were absolutely incredible. Unlike usual fish and chip shops, the chips were crispy and delicious (not soggy). The scampi in particular was great, as was the crunchy tartar sauce. Highly recommend.

Ordering was easy and the food didn’t take that long. The fish was meaty but tasteless as well as the batter. The chips were average nothing special! The sausages were unpleasant and burnt. Very overpriced too! Definitely worn be returning!

Very good fish & chips. Friendly service. They offer beer and wine, but no zero alcohol, which would have been welcome. However, it's a great place and I would definitely recommend.

Had to queue for a while but was definitely worth it! Really high quality fish, amazing tartare sauce and the chips were good as well. Prices pretty standard. Note: no non fish alternatives but that was completely fine for us :)

An extremely disappointing experience. I appreciate the shop specialises in fish, but if you only offer one non-fish option (sausages) then at least make them edible. The sausages were simply disgusting and we couldn’t eat them as they were so bad, so effectively we paid £17 for two portions of chips with a couple of pots of ketchup and mayo dips. The chips were decent and there were lots of people ordering fish so I’m sure others had a much better experience than us. It was a bit of odd atmosphere all round - for any newbies make sure you stand outside after you order (even if it is +1c and you don’t fancy standing outside in the cold for 10-15 mins) as you’ll be told to go outside if not. All in all a thoroughly disappointing experience.

Visited on New Years Eve and joined the long queue but very glad I did. Deliciously crisp battered fish that was cooked to perfection and not at all oily accompanied by crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside chips. Some of the best fish & chips I’ve ever had.

Great experience back in November 2024 just the two of us enjoying the tastiest fish and chips and watching the world go by on the benches on the sea front. Looking forward to a return trip from Chelmsford on New Years Eve. Thank you ☺️
